Demolition of the trading areas at the Zhetysu-Semirechye market in Almaty has begun in the Kairat microdistrict of the Turksib district. The owner started dismantling the structures independently in compliance with a court ruling, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the Almaty Department of Urban Planning Control, an inspection found that Status Construction LLP had built trading premises with a total area of 56.4 thousand square meters without permits.

"Administrative measures were taken against the owner, with an order issued to eliminate the violations. Because the requirements of the order were not met, the department filed a lawsuit seeking demolition with the Almaty Specialized Interdistrict Economic Court, after which court proceedings followed," the statement said.

A ruling by the Almaty City Court left the Specialized Interdistrict Economic Court's decision to demolish the illegal structures unchanged, and the materials were sent to the Department of Justice for enforcement.

The owner began dismantling the structures independently in compliance with the court ruling.
