A fire broke out in a private house in the city of Altai, East Kazakhstan Region, and a child was rescued from the flames, reports infohub.kz.
According to NUR.KZ, citing the Telegram channel "News of the Ministry of Internal Affairs," at around 13:00 patrol officers noticed thick smoke coming from a private residential area. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers determined that one of the houses on Altaiskaya Street was on fire.
"Seeing a crying child through the window, Police Major Azamat Kanapin did not wait for firefighters to arrive and rushed to help. Patrol Police Platoon Commander Police Captain Ruslan Kuniyazov and Service Inspector Senior Police Lieutenant Abzal Smagulov immediately came to their partner's aid. Together they broke the window, after which Major Kanapin pulled the boy out of the smoke-filled house and quickly carried him to a safe distance," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
In addition, a neighbor who was nearby also promptly called emergency services and assisted the police at the scene.
It is specified that firefighters and an ambulance crew soon arrived at the scene. The child was handed over to medics and taken to hospital. Currently, his life and health are not in danger.
