A US resident found a postcard in his mailbox that was sent by his parents more than a quarter of a century ago. The message spent 26 years in the postal system before reaching its recipient, reports infohub.kz.

While checking his mail, the man discovered a postcard dated to the last century among the usual letters. The senders turned out to be his late parents. The mail item had traveled a long way, delayed in the postal service for decades.

The recipient called the unexpected find a real treasure and an invaluable greeting from the past. According to him, seeing the familiar handwriting of loved ones so many years after their death was an incredibly touching event. The postcard was sent during one of his parents' trips when the son was younger.

Postal representatives could not exactly explain where the message got lost for so many years. However, for the man himself, the delay turned out to be a stroke of luck, granting warm memories of his family. The message now holds a special place in his home as a reminder of parental love.
