In the first microdistrict of Almaty's Auezov district, a passerby noticed an abandoned package and called the police. Patrol officers and an investigative team arrived at the scene and determined that the contents could be dangerous to those nearby, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Almaty Police Department, the package contained cartridges and an item believed to be a non-lethal gas grenade. All items have been sent for forensic ballistic examination, where experts will determine the type and characteristics of the discovered objects.
Police are conducting operational and investigative measures to establish the origin of the ammunition, its ownership, and the circumstances of its appearance in the residential courtyard. The Auezov District Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident.
