A bag containing ammunition and a suspected non-lethal gas grenade was found in the courtyard of a residential building in the first microdistrict of Almaty's Auezov district. This was reported by the website infohub.kz, citing the city police department.

A passerby discovered the find and immediately reported it to the emergency number 102. Patrol officers and an investigative team arrived at the scene. The area was inspected, the suspicious bag was seized, and all items were sent for forensic ballistic examination.

Almaty police stated: "Inside, cartridges and an object believed to be a non-lethal gas grenade were found. All seized items have been sent for forensic ballistic examination. Experts will determine the type and characteristics of the discovered items."

Currently, police are investigating the origin of the ammunition, its ownership, and the circumstances under which it appeared in the residential courtyard. The investigation is being conducted by the Auezov district police department.

Police remind citizens: if you find suspicious objects, do not touch or attempt to move them. Keep a safe distance and report the find to 102.

Earlier, it was reported that in Almaty, a driver was detained for chasing a woman and pointing an object resembling a weapon at her. Police determined it was a toy gun. The man was charged with petty hooliganism and a traffic violation.
