Investors in the American company Anthropic, which created the Claude chatbot, are expecting a business valuation of $2 trillion during the market debut. According to the Financial Times, the initial public listing is scheduled for October. If successful, the company's IPO would become the largest ever, exceeding SpaceX's June record of $1.77 trillion.
Investor optimism is based on rapid growth metrics. By the end of the year, Anthropic's annual revenue is projected to reach $100-120 billion, more than ten times the figures from the beginning of the year. Recall that in May of this year, the startup's valuation had already reached $965 billion, surpassing its main competitor OpenAI.
However, ahead of the share offering, the company faces serious challenges. The cost of using the flagship Claude model remains higher than alternatives, and export restrictions by US authorities and litigation with the Department of Defense are causing caution among some major clients.
