Rumors that Apple is preparing new AirPods with built-in cameras have been circulating since early 2025. Now they have received their first serious confirmation: a demonstration video showing the technology in action was found in the test version of macOS Tahoe 26.7. Kursiv LifeStyle has found out why Apple would embed cameras in headphones and how they will help Siri... reports the website infohub.kz.

Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has repeatedly written about the appearance of cameras in future AirPods. According to him, Apple sees cameras as a kind of "eyes" for Siri. And now testers of macOS Tahoe 26.7 have found a short clip demonstrating this.

In the video, a person holds a book up to eye level. Siri recognizes it and obtains information about it.

This is exactly what the insider described earlier. For example, if a person holds a vegetable in front of them, the cameras will be able to recognize it, and Siri will suggest several cooking options.

Consequently, users will no longer need to take out their smartphone every time, photograph an object, and show it to the assistant. Now the headphones will be able to transmit information about what is in front of the person to Siri, so that it can provide the appropriate answer based on that.

The new headphones are expected to be called AirPods Ultra. According to available information, Apple may unveil them soon at its annual September event, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and the first foldable iPhone Ultra.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that Apple is testing the largest display in iPhone history for the anniversary model, which will be released in 2027.
