Telegram was temporarily removed from the App Store but has been restored. The reason was the discovery of materials violating platform rules. The incident occurred on August 4, 2026, according to infohub.kz.
The app was unavailable for download for about an hour before reappearing in the catalog. Telegram representatives reacted with humor, posting on X: "Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."
After clarifying the circumstances, the company addressed Apple with an ironic remark: "I'm sure the same approach will be applied to all other apps in the App Store in the future, right?"
According to Bloomberg, moderators found content violating platform rules regarding the ban on material with sexualized violence against children.
It is worth noting that recently in Russia, Telegram founder Pavel Durov was charged with aiding terrorism. Additionally, in France, Durov faces more than a dozen investigations, as the founder himself stated. Each charge carries a potential prison sentence of up to 10 years.
