On July 30, 2026, a helicopter carrying officials crashed in Argentina's San Juan province, killing seven people, according to the website infohub.kz.
San Juan Governor Marcelo Orrego made the announcement on social media platform X.
"With deep sorrow we received the news of the helicopter crash in our province, which tragically killed seven people," Orrego wrote. He said the victims were public servants who dedicated their lives to protecting local residents — the director of civil defense, the deputy police chief, the fire chief, his deputy, and employees of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The pilot also died in the crash.
"I want to express my most sincere condolences to the families of all the victims in this moment of immense grief. We share the pain of everyone who has lost their loved ones," the governor wrote.
