The Argentina national team was stranded in Atlanta due to thunderstorms that prevented the team from flying to the World Cup final in New York, reports infohub.kz.
After winning the semifinal, the team planned to head to the Big Apple to prepare for the final, but bad weather disrupted those plans.
The delay could seriously hamper the team's preparation for the final. The flight from Atlanta to New York typically takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes.
"If they cannot fly out by morning, the team will have just over one full day in New York before facing Spain," notes The Sun.
Argentina beat England to reach the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup for the second consecutive time. In the previous tournament, Argentina won the title.
Lionel Messi once again rewrote World Cup history in the match against England.
Only one game now separates the team from the coveted trophy.
