Argentina midfielder Leandro Paredes has been handed a lengthy suspension, according to infohub.kz.

The 32-year-old was punished following an incident in the 2026 World Cup final. After the match against Spain, Paredes attacked several opposing players. FIFA's disciplinary committee ruled to suspend him for ten matches and fined him $90,000 (about 41.5 million tenge at the current exchange rate).

Argentina defender Nahuel Molina received the same fine, but his suspension is shorter at seven matches.

Argentine winger Thiago Almada and Spanish midfielder Gavi will each miss one match. South American team coach Roberto Ayala was suspended for three matches. All three were also fined $30,000.

Recall that FIFA's disciplinary committee also imposed sanctions on the Argentine Football Association following the World Cup.
