President of Kazakhstan has signed a decree reappointing Arman Shakkaliev as Minister of Trade and Integration, reports infohub.kz.

According to the official statement from Akorda, "By the Decree of the Head of State, Shakkaliev Arman Abaevich has been appointed as Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan."

Arman Shakkaliev was born in 1977 in the city of Balkhash, Karaganda region. He graduated from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, E.A. Buketov Karaganda State University, and M. Dulatov Kostanay Engineering and Economics University.

He began his career as a legal consultant at JSC "Agency for Reorganization and Liquidation of Enterprises" in Astana and Akmola region. From 2001 to 2002, he held positions of chief specialist and head of department at the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for State Material Reserves.

In 2002-2004, he headed the department for analysis and monitoring of insolvent enterprises at the Committee for Work with Insolvent Debtors of the Ministry of State Revenues of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2004 to 2006, he was the director of the Republican State Enterprise "Kazakhstan Institute of Metrology".

In 2006-2007, he served as deputy chairman of the Committee for Work with Insolvent Debtors. From 2007 to 2008, he worked in senior positions in the structures of the Ministries of Finance, Economy and Budget Planning, as well as the holding company "KazAgro".

From 2008 to 2016, he headed the RSE "KazInSt". Then, from 2016 to 2018, he was the director of the Department of Technical Regulation and Accreditation of the Eurasian Economic Commission. In 2018-2019, he served as chairman of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2019-2020, he held the position of chairman of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2020 to 2022, he was a member of the Board (Minister) for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission in Moscow.

In 2022-2023, he was the first vice-minister of trade and integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He was first appointed as Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan on September 2, 2023.
