Kazakh mixed martial arts fighter Artyom Reznikov failed to secure a victory in his home bout at the Russian ACA league's tournament in Almaty, reports infohub.kz.

The athlete competed on the main card of ACA 205. His opponent was Azerbaijani Zaur Gadzhiev. Originally scheduled as a lightweight fight, Reznikov missed weight and was fined.

The fight went the full three rounds. The judges' scores were split: one scored for Reznikov, one for Gadzhiev, and one declared a draw. Thus the bout ended in a draw, the first in both fighters' careers.

The 29-year-old Gadzhiev has four wins and one loss in professional MMA, and also competes in pop-MMA. The 34-year-old Reznikov has 26 wins and 11 losses; he has lost three of his last five fights.
