In 2026, the ranking of the world's most powerful passports has seen significant changes, with Asian nations now taking the lead, according to infohub.kz.
Singapore tops the list, granting its citizens visa-free access to 192 destinations, up from 173 in 2016.
Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates share second place, with their passport holders able to visit 188 countries and territories without a visa.
The UAE shows particularly impressive progress: over the past two decades, the country has expanded its visa-free destinations by 153, becoming one of the world leaders in passport strength.
European countries maintain strong positions: Norway ranks fifth with access to 186 countries, and Switzerland sixth with 185 destinations. On average, citizens of EU countries and the UK can visit about 184 destinations without a visa.
Canadian and US passports have also become stronger compared to 2016, with visa-free access rising to 183 and 180 destinations respectively. However, other nations have developed diplomatic ties faster, so North America has slipped in the global ranking.
