This year, repairs will cover about 50 streets in Astana, totaling approximately 60 kilometers. Simultaneously, the city is constructing new roads and transport interchanges, reports infohub.kz.
The capital's akim, Zhenis Kassymbek, shared the plans on social media. According to him, developing road infrastructure should make commuting more convenient and reduce pressure on the most congested areas.
During a city tour, Kassymbek visited several construction sites. One of them is Zhangeldin Street. Once completed, it will provide passage between K. Kumisbekov and Sh. Beisekova streets. Additionally, the akim promised improved access to school-gymnasium No. 65, a technical college, and the boarding school "Bilim-Innovation." Currently, workers are laying utility networks and constructing the road pavement at this site.
Construction continues on S. Nurmagambetov Street, from Sh. Kaldayakov Street to Raiymbek Batyr Street. The project aims to improve transport connectivity of the adjacent area and provide convenient access to the LRT station. At present, road pavement works are underway here.
The capital is also building streets E67 and E68, from Tole bi Street to A. Bekturov Street. The new road will provide transport links between these streets and make access to nearby residential complexes more convenient. Workers are currently engaged in road pavement construction.
In the "Prigorodny" residential area, a project is underway to build Mestnaya-7 and E522 streets. The new roads are expected to improve transport accessibility to the residential area, a new comfortable school, and houses. On E522 Street, work is currently being done on utility networks and road pavement.
Another project involves constructing a street from 40A Mangilik El Avenue to A. Bokeikhan Street. The new road will provide transport links between the two streets and improve access to the residential complexes "Sapphire," "Korkem-4," and "Kumbel." Utility networks are currently being laid at this site.
"We are carrying out road works in all districts of the capital. Contractors have been instructed to strictly adhere to the established deadlines and ensure proper quality of work," wrote Zhenis Kassymbek.
