In 2025, the capital's bus fleet received an unusual addition to its assets from the akimat: ten prefabricated metal toilets valued at 127.9 million tenge, or about 12.8 million per unit, reports infohub.kz.
According to the financial statements of the enterprise "Bus Park No. 1" for 2025, the increase in authorized capital was based on Order No. 126 dated January 27, 2025, signed by the head of the State Institution "Department of Assets and Public Procurement." The document states: "By Order No. 126 of 01/27/2025, the head of the State Institution 'Department of Assets and Public Procurement' increased the authorized capital by 127,869.00 thousand tenge by transferring 10 units of prefabricated metal toilets."
Additionally, by order of Astana Akim Zhenis Kassymbek dated April 28, 2025, the authorized capital of the municipal bus fleet was further increased under the budget program "Formation or Increase of Authorized Capital of Legal Entities" by 8.9 billion tenge.
As a result, by the end of 2025, the declared capital of the bus fleet had grown to 40.2 billion tenge, compared to 31.2 billion a year earlier. However, despite billions in injections from the shareholder, taking into account annual losses, the company's capital decreased to 7.4 billion tenge by the end of 2025, while at the end of 2024 it stood at 10.9 billion tenge.
For 2025, "Bus Park No. 1" posted a loss of 5.53 billion tenge, slightly less than the 5.58 billion loss in 2024. The company's revenue increased from 12.1 billion tenge in 2024 to 14.6 billion in 2025. At the same time, the cost of transportation rose from 43.6 billion to 53.5 billion tenge, respectively. Other income of the bus fleet amounted to 38.9 billion tenge in 2024 and 32.4 billion in 2025. By the end of 2025, the company's uncovered loss reached 50.9 billion tenge.
The sole shareholder of the bus fleet on behalf of the Astana akimat is the State Institution "Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of Astana."
"Bus Park No. 1" is the largest bus fleet in the capital. However, buses for city and suburban routes are provided to it by another akimat company, City Transportation System (CTS), while the bus fleet itself provides the personnel for their maintenance.
In addition, at a general shareholders' meeting held on July 23, it was decided to sell 21 decommissioned buses at open auction, including three previously burned ones. The total cost of the buses, whose brands and year of manufacture are not disclosed, is estimated at 264.9 million tenge, or about 12.6 million per vehicle.
