The 35th Kazakhstan Athletics Championships will be held in Astana from July 22 to 24, gathering more than 265 athletes from across the country. The results will serve as the basis for selecting the national team for the Asian Games, according to infohub.kz.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the national championship will be the season's main event for the country's top athletes and will determine the lineup of the Kazakh team for the Asian Games.
The main competitions will take place at the new stadium of the Kazakh National University of Sports. The throwing events will be held at the specialized sector of the Qazaqstan athletics sports complex.
More than 265 athletes from 17 regions of Kazakhstan will compete for medals. Additionally, outside the competitive program, Azerbaijan's Yekaterina Sariyeva will compete in the triple jump.
Over three competition days, participants will vie for awards in 48 individual events for men and women, as well as in mixed 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
Leading members of the Kazakh national team will compete, including Caroline Chepkoech Kipkirui, Daisy Jepkemei, Kristina Ovchinnikova, Nadezhda Dubovitskaya, Elizaveta Matveyeva, Anastasiya Rypakova, Maria Yefremova, Adelina Zems, Andrey Sokolov, Elnur Mukhitdinov, Ivan Ivanov, Ivan Tovchennik, Victoria An, Vitaliy Zems, Vyacheslav Zems, and other top athletes from the country.
Based on the championship results, the coaching staff will finalize the national team roster for the Asian Games, making this tournament one of the most important events of the season for Kazakhstani athletes.
The opening ceremony of the 35th Kazakhstan Athletics Championships will take place on July 22 at 4:30 PM. The event is expected to not only determine the country's top athletes but also serve as a key preparatory step for the national team ahead of international competitions.
