A 20-year-old man in Kazakhstan's capital deliberately damaged a barrier in the courtyard of a residential building and was held administratively liable, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the press service of the Astana Police Department, the incident occurred in the courtyard of a residential building on Baurzhan Momyshuly Avenue. The young man repeatedly kicked the barrier structure, ultimately damaging it and causing material damage. A video of the incident circulated online.
By a court decision, the man was subjected to an administrative penalty of a fine of 50 monthly calculation indices, amounting to 216,250 tenge.
Police also noted that since the beginning of the year, capital law enforcement officers have identified more than 120 cases of deliberate damage to others' property, and appropriate measures have been taken in each case.
"Maintaining public order and treating property with care is an important component of a safe and comfortable urban environment. Deliberate damage to others' property, including infrastructure elements in residential courtyards, is not a harmless act and entails liability provided for by law," law enforcement officials said.
It is noted that Astana police are continuously taking measures to identify and suppress cases of damage to others' property.
"Damage to others' property, depending on the nature and circumstances of the act, entails liability provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We urge residents to treat others' property with care, comply with established norms, and refrain from actions that disrupt public order," the Police Department reminded.
