A court in Astana has sentenced a BMW driver to 15 days in jail for committing 87 traffic violations over three months, including multiple speeding offenses, according to infohub.kz.

The 29-year-old driver was held administratively liable during the "Safe Road" police operation. Between March and June this year, he committed 87 offenses, the Astana Police Department said.

Of those, 55 were caught by speed cameras for exceeding the limit, and 32 were for driving in bus lanes. Police cited examples: in March, on Turan Avenue and Akmeshit Street, the car reached 129–131 km/h. In June, on G. Mustafin Street, it hit 126 km/h, and on K. Mukhamedkhanov Street, 151 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.

"For systematic illegal behavior and actions showing clear disrespect for society, police brought the violator to administrative responsibility for petty hooliganism," the department added. The court ordered a 15-day arrest.

Police warned that systematic traffic violations, aggressive driving, and endangering other road users will not go unpunished.
