Residents of Astana are concerned about the Botanical Garden turning into a place of spontaneous trade and rental of entertainment. The city administration reminded about the ban on trade in unauthorized places and promised to dismantle illegal objects, reports the website infohub.kz.
The reason for the authorities' reaction was a publication on social media, whose author complained about the large number of cars, rickshaws, and scooters on the garden's territory. "It's such a pity that our beautiful botanical garden has turned into some kind of bazaar. You can't even take a peaceful walk anymore. From all sides, people are riding on cars, rickshaws, and scooters that are illegally rented out by unknown individuals," wrote the citizen. He also drew attention to street trade and asked to preserve the garden's territory for walks.
The administration of the "Yesil" district explained that trade on streets, near stops, in public spaces, and other places not intended for this purpose is prohibited. "Trade activity is possible only in specially designated places: inside shopping and entertainment centers, as well as on officially allocated plots," reads the official response of the department.
According to the administration, facts of spontaneous trade are detected, including on the territory of the Botanical Garden and near large residential complexes. It is noted that the work on dismantling and removing illegally installed trade objects is carried out by employees of the apparatus of the "Yesil" district administration together with the police.
"For carrying out trade in unauthorized places, administrative liability is provided in accordance with Article 204 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses. The sanction provides for a warning or a fine of 5 MCI, and for a repeated violation within a year - a fine of 10 MCI," concluded the administration.
