Dozens of people were forced to walk across a road bridge in Astana after a traffic accident involving two shuttle buses, the website infohub.kz reports.
The incident was captured on video and posted on the social network Threads. User gaukhar_akshabayeva asked why dozens of people were walking across the bridge, where several buses were also stopped, and what exactly had happened there.
To clarify the situation, a NUR.KZ correspondent contacted the press service of the Astana city police department.
"On 10 September, the driver of a Yutong shuttle bus, travelling along Saraishyk Street from Koshkarbayev Avenue, failed to keep a safe lateral distance while coming off the Arkhar bridge and collided with an Iveco shuttle bus moving in the same direction on the right. As a result of the accident, a passenger of the Iveco shuttle bus was taken to a medical facility by an ambulance crew," the Astana police department explained.
Police are conducting an investigation into the incident, the results of which will be given a legal assessment, according to reports.
