A resident of Astana reported on social media an incident involving a bus driver who closed the doors on a stroller with a child. According to the woman, the stroller fell to the ground, reports infohub.kz.
A user under the nickname dina_ospanova28 posted on Threads about the incident with the driver of bus No. 54 in Astana. "Today, September 2, 2026, at approximately 08:00, I was trying to board bus No. 54 with a child in a stroller. When we tried to bring the stroller into the bus, passengers inside were helping us lift it. At that moment, the driver began closing the doors, even though boarding was not yet complete," the woman said.
According to her, she and other passengers started shouting and asking the driver to stop, but the doors continued to close. "As a result, the front wheel of the stroller got caught in the bus doors. Despite this, the driver continued driving. Due to the movement of the bus, the wheel was pulled out of the doors, and the stroller with the child inside tipped over and fell to the ground. After that, the bus did not stop and continued on its way. Fortunately, the child was not physically injured, but was very frightened," the post author wrote.
The Astana resident asked the management of City Transportation Systems LLP to investigate the situation and bring those responsible to account. The official representative of CTS, Oksana Aubakirova, reacted to the publication. "We are very sorry that such a situation occurred. We hope the child is not injured. We are looking into it," she wrote.
