A spontaneous crowd gathered at a coffee shop in Astana due to a giveaway promotion, drawing police attention. Measures have been taken against the event organizer, reports infohub.kz.

On August 7, residents of the capital posted photos and videos of long queues outside the establishment on social media. Visitors came for a promotional drink that promised a free mini lip gloss from a Kazakh cosmetics brand. Later, footage appeared online showing police officers near the coffee shop, talking to several female customers.

The Astana Police Department explained that an inspection was conducted regarding the gathering of citizens on Turken Street. It was established that the queue formed as a result of a promotion run by entrepreneurs. No violations of public order were recorded.

The department added that the event organizer was held accountable by authorized bodies for violating the procedure for organizing and holding mass events, in accordance with the law.

Police reminded that any mass events that could lead to spontaneous gatherings require prior approval from local executive authorities. The main priority is ensuring the safety of citizens.
