Kazakhstan's capital is expanding emergency medical care for both children and adults. Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova visited Multidisciplinary Children's Hospital No. 2, where a new trauma center equipped with modern intensive care and an operating suite will open as early as October, according to infohub.kz.
The new trauma center has its own operating rooms and state-of-the-art intensive care wards. The space was designed specifically to handle a high volume of patients. This will allow doctors to provide emergency care to children with injuries more quickly, avoiding long queues and creating comfortable conditions for young patients and their parents.
Alnazarova also visited Multidisciplinary City Hospital No. 1, where she was shown the renovated admissions area and specialized departments.
In just the first eight months of this year, the hospital admitted nearly 20,000 patients and performed more than 11,000 surgeries. Compared to last year, surgeons are operating more frequently, and patients are now recovering faster and being discharged sooner. Reconstruction of the hospital is planned for next year.
After inspecting the medical facilities, the minister instructed that all facilities under construction be completed on time and that new departments be fully equipped before opening. All this large-scale modernization serves one purpose: to ensure that Astana residents receive treatment in comfort and that neither adults nor children have to wait hours for medical care.
Earlier it was reported that a new medical center is set to open soon in the capital on the basis of Multidisciplinary City Hospital No. 2. It will be a five-story building with an area of over 7,000 square meters, designed to handle a thousand visits per day.
