Several people in Astana have been punished for setting off fireworks late at night. One man was arrested for five days after launching fireworks near the Baiterek monument to congratulate a friend on the birth of his child, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Astana Police Department, three cases of public order violations involving fireworks were recorded in the capital this past week alone. On the night of July 22, a group of people set off fireworks in the courtyard of a residential building, disturbing residents. About six participants were identified and fined for breaking the quiet hours. A 30-year-old woman who actually ignited the fireworks was fined 20 monthly calculation indices (86,500 tenge) for petty hooliganism.
Another incident occurred on July 23 at the Baiterek monument square, where fireworks were also launched. Police identified a 37-year-old man who said he had bought the fireworks online to congratulate a friend on the long-awaited birth of a child. He was arrested for five days for violating public order.
A third case was recorded on July 24 on Koshkarbayev Avenue. A 24-year-old man set off fireworks to celebrate a friend bringing his bride home. His case has been sent to court for a decision.
