The first snow fell in Kazakhstan's capital on October 5, marking the start of a new work week in Astana with the season's first snowflakes — an event that did not go unnoticed by residents and visitors alike, according to infohub.kz.
Locals have been actively sharing their reactions and weather photos on social media. The Telegram channel Astanovka98 posted one video of the snowfall.
On Threads, user ashat_kenesovich also warned people about the weather, writing that it was time to pull out warm clothes and put on jackets and hats.
"Astana residents, dress warmly — tights and leggings are already fair game, the snow has started, it's very cold," another city resident wrote.
Another video of snow and wind was posted by aliya.murat__.
"Well, Astana, happy first snow," the social media user congratulated everyone.
"Astana never disappoints — snow already," joked another on Threads.
