A residential burglary has been solved in Kazakhstan's capital, with damages exceeding 3.5 million tenge: the suspect has been detained and the stolen jewelry returned to its owner, reports infohub.kz.
According to NUR.KZ, citing Polisia.kz, police in Astana have solved a residential burglary that caused the victim material damage amounting to over 3.5 million tenge.
According to the media portal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was established that a female resident of the capital, leaving her home, had absentmindedly left her keys outside the front door. Upon returning home, the woman found an unknown man inside her apartment. She began knocking on the door and demanded he leave the premises. The door then swung open, and the man ran out of the apartment and fled. The woman immediately contacted the police.
During the investigation, it was determined that jewelry had been stolen from the apartment: four gold rings with diamonds, three gold chains, and three pairs of gold earrings. The total damage exceeded 3.5 million tenge.
As a result of operational search activities, police identified and detained a 25-year-old suspect who had previously been held accountable for a similar crime.
It is noted that the stolen property has been seized and returned to its owner. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, and all circumstances of the incident are being established.
