A 68-year-old man has been sentenced in Kazakhstan's capital for an indecent incident at an administrative building, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Astana courts, on August 24, the specialized inter-district court for administrative offenses considered the case against citizen Zh., accused of petty hooliganism. According to case materials, at about 09:28 a.m., Zh., while at the Public Service Center on Mangilik El Avenue, removed his pants while passing through a metal detector, thereby disturbing public order and the peace of citizens.
In court, Zh. did not admit guilt, claiming he did it as a joke. However, his guilt was confirmed by case materials and video footage of the incident.
The sanction of Part 1 of Article 434 of the Administrative Code provides for a fine of 20 MCI, or community service for 20 to 60 hours, or administrative arrest for 5 to 10 days. In determining the punishment, the court considered the degree and nature of the act, which showed inappropriate behavior and clear disrespect for society. Additionally, the court noted that under Article 50 of the Administrative Code, administrative arrest does not apply to persons over 63 years old.
By court ruling, Zh. was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 434 and fined 86,500 tenge (20 MCI). The ruling has not yet entered into force.
