A resident of Astana has reported that an unknown man followed her daughter as she was returning home from school, and police in the capital are working to identify him, the website infohub.kz reports.
The woman posted her account on the social network Threads. According to her, a man in dark glasses followed the girl after classes.
"He got on the same bus. He got off after her. My daughter started running, and the man ran after her. In the end she managed to run into her building entrance and shut the door," the Astana woman wrote.
Later, the woman said, her daughter saw the same man following another girl in the courtyard of their building.
According to the mother, the child is frightened and will not leave the house.
"This is just horrifying! I'll be driving her myself from now on," she wrote.
The Astana police department for the Saryarka district commented on the incident.
"Measures are being taken to establish the man's identity in this case. Once he is identified, appropriate action will be taken in accordance with current legislation. For a prompt response, we ask that such cases be reported to police via channel 102," the department said.
