An explosion occurred at a tandyr oven stall on a market in Astana's Baykonyr district, injuring four people, including a child, reports infohub.kz.
The incident happened on the first floor of a two-story building on Zhiyenkulova Street. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a gas-air mixture detonated. The blast partially collapsed the ceiling and a door frame. Preliminary cause is a leak from a 50-liter composite gas cylinder.
The capital's Public Health Department said two adults were hospitalized at City Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 1, one child was taken to City Children's Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 2, and another victim was released after examination for outpatient treatment. Emergency services and MChS units are working at the scene. The exact circumstances and cause are being investigated.
