A Mercedes-Benz driver in Astana has been placed under administrative arrest for dangerous maneuvers on a city road, a ruling handed down by a specialized interdistrict court for administrative offenses, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the Astana courts' Telegram channel, the violation was recorded on September 30. The Mercedes-Benz driver was drifting at an intersection with Zhumabaev Street, deliberately causing the rear of the car to skid and ostentatiously performing dangerous maneuvers.
Today the specialized interdistrict court for administrative offenses of Astana heard the case under Part 1 of Article 434 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The sanction under this article provides for community service of 20 to 60 hours or administrative arrest of 5 to 10 days. At the hearing, the defendant fully admitted guilt.
"When imposing the penalty, the court took into account the nature and degree of public danger of the offense committed, its intentional, public and demonstrative character; the unlawful behavior was accompanied by a gross violation of traffic rules and created a threat to the safety of road users. Taking into account the totality of circumstances, the court concluded that an administrative penalty in the form of administrative arrest for a period of 10 days should be imposed," the statement said.
The ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
