Two cases of lost expensive gadgets on public transport have been reported in Kazakhstan's capital, but thanks to prompt police action, both devices were returned to their owners, reports infohub.kz.
According to NUR.KZ, citing the Astana Police Department, the first report came from a female resident of the capital who lost her iPhone while riding a bus.
"According to preliminary data, the woman accidentally dropped the device in the bus cabin. Later, a young man who was there picked it up. During operational search activities, police officers identified and located him. As a result, the phone was found and returned to its owner intact," the department said in a statement.
A similar incident occurred with another Astana resident. The man left a laptop in a blue bag on the back seat of a route bus. About ten minutes later, the driver discovered that the left-behind device was no longer there.
During operational search activities, law enforcement officers located and found the missing laptop.
Police reminded citizens of the need to promptly contact law enforcement if personal belongings are lost on public transport or elsewhere.
"If you have lost personal belongings on public transport or in another place, it is important to promptly contact the police and report all known circumstances. This helps to quickly take the necessary measures to find the property," the department emphasized.
