An incident that came to light through social media has now led to action in Kazakhstan's capital: a young man caught behaving indecently outside one of the city's clubs has been identified and detained. The news is reported by infohub.kz.
Word of the man's inappropriate behavior at a club in the capital spread online. The offender was tracked down and punished, NUR.KZ reports, citing Astana police.
A post on the social network Threads claimed that at one of the clubs the young man allegedly posed as a police officer and threatened security guards.
"And when they escorted him outside, he stood there defecating on the street under a fence," the post said.
Astana's Police Department responded to the incident, announcing the measures taken in the comments.
"During monitoring of social networks, a post was identified showing a man relieving himself in a public place. During the check, police officers identified and detained the 20-year-old man," the police said.
According to the department, the man was held administratively liable for petty hooliganism and placed in a temporary detention room. The case materials have been sent to court.
Astana's Police Department did not specify whether the offender is a law enforcement officer.
