Astana police have shut down two young men suspected of storing and selling hashish oil. They rented two apartments in the same stairwell to prepare the drug for sale, and packaged it in the kitchen using a steamer. During searches, officers seized over one and a half kilograms of illegal substances, reports infohub.kz.

Investigators determined that the suspects, aged 24 and 23, both residents of Astana, rented two apartments on different floors of the same building. According to the investigation, they distributed hashish oil via internet messengers, using a hide-and-seek stash scheme.

During searches in both apartments, police found plastic bottles containing a yellow liquid, which investigators determined to be hashish oil. They also seized electronic scales, packaging materials, and various containers with narcotics used to prepare the substance for further distribution.

The kitchen in one of the apartments drew particular attention. There, officers found a steamer with a buildup of narcotic residue. Police determined that the suspects used it to melt the hashish oil, making it easier to package before sale.

In total, over one and a half kilograms of hashish oil and marijuana were seized. The suspected distributors' operation has been stopped, and the drugs confiscated. A criminal case has been opened; the suspects are in custody.

Police remind that illegal possession, production, and distribution of narcotics carry criminal liability. They urge citizens to report any known instances of drug trafficking to help prevent its spread and ensure public safety.
