A resident of the Kazakh capital has posted a photo on social media of a man who, she says, molested a young girl. The Astana Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident, the website infohub.kz reports.
Kazakh citizen Aselhan Sideshova posted on her Threads page that a man in the capital had molested a minor child.
“A serious incident involving a little girl occurred in one of the buildings in Bagystan 4. According to the available information, the young man in the photo molested the child. In broad daylight, a small, defenceless girl nearly became a victim of violence. It is frightening to realise that this can happen to a child at any time and in any place. We ask everyone who recognises this person to urgently report it to the relevant authorities,” the post says.
Police in the capital's Yesil district responded to the post.
“On this fact, the police department of the Yesil district police directorate of the Astana Police Department has opened a criminal case under the article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ‘Sexual molestation of persons under the age of sixteen,’ and a pre-trial investigation is under way. Other information is not subject to disclosure under Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” law enforcement officials said.
