Kazakhstan's capital is hosting an operational and preventive campaign called Pravoporyadok from October 20 to 23, with police stepping up patrols of streets and residential courtyards, conducting raids and checking crowded public areas, the website infohub.kz reports.

The press service of the Astana Police Department announced the operation. The department said particular attention is being paid to targeted checks on citizens under preventive and signal registration, as well as to promptly identifying and suppressing offenses.

"Police officers have stepped up patrols of streets and residential courtyards, are conducting raids and checking crowded public areas. Particular attention is being paid to targeted checks on citizens under preventive and signal registration, as well as to promptly identifying and suppressing offenses," the department said.

The main goal of the campaign is not only to identify violations but also to prevent them, ensuring the safety of citizens and calm in public places, according to the department.

Residents and visitors to Astana were urged to observe public order, respect the rights and legitimate interests of others, avoid provocations and refrain from actions that could carry legal consequences.

"Pravoporyadok begins with each of us. Do not remain indifferent to violations of the law. If you witness an offense or notice a suspicious situation, report it to the police in a timely manner. Your vigilance can help prevent unlawful actions and ensure the safety of those around you," the police said in an appeal to citizens.
