A shot rang out in the courtyard of a residential building in Kazakhstan's capital on the evening of September 17, and police have released details of the incident, infohub.kz reports.
According to the Astana Police Department, which spoke to a NUR.KZ correspondent, a call was received on the evening of September 17 reporting gunshots in the courtyard of a residential building.
"Patrol police crews arrived at the scene promptly. It was preliminarily established that a group of young people in a state of alcohol intoxication were in the courtyard of the residential building and behaving aggressively. One of the residents, in order to prevent unlawful actions, fired a warning shot into the air from a gas pistol," the department said.
All those involved were detained at the scene and taken to the police station. Measures will be taken against the offenders in accordance with the law.
"Information about residents being wounded is not true. We warn that liability is provided for the dissemination of deliberately false information. We urge citizens to trust official sources," police said.
