Residents of Astana faced a major transport collapse: according to the 2GIS service, road congestion reached 10 points, with city dwellers reporting it en masse on social media, the website infohub.kz reports.

Information about the maximum traffic jams appeared on the Telegram channel Astanovka98. Subscribers actively commented on the situation: "Snow will fall or there'll be ice, it'll be a disaster," "Who's arrived?", "The collapse is mainly created by those who don't know how to drive."

The 2GIS map confirms the data on 10-point traffic jams. Streets on the left bank of the capital are marked in red. In addition, the map shows that several road accidents occurred in the city at once.

In their explanations for the causes of the traffic jams and accidents, drivers cited: "Road closure," "Traffic jam, fire the traffic light," "Road works."

Earlier, police addressed Astana drivers in connection with ongoing road repair work in the city. They reported that road works have led to an increase in traffic jams. Residents and visitors of the city were urged to show understanding of the situation, observe traffic rules and avoid conflicts on the roads.
