A court in Astana has sentenced a local resident to 15 days of administrative detention for committing more than 80 traffic violations in a span of several months, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the court, the individual, identified as 'Zh.,' was cited for over 80 traffic infractions between March and June 2026, including speeding. On two occasions, he was recorded driving at 151 km/h and 126 km/h, posing a danger to other road users.
During the hearing, the man pleaded guilty and expressed remorse. He admitted to repeated speeding, stated that he had paid all fines, and explained that he was behind the wheel in most instances. The court noted that the evidence included his confession, the official offense report, footage from the certified Sergek traffic enforcement system, and records from the Prosecutor General's Office.
The court found him guilty under Article 434, Part 1, of the Administrative Code and sentenced him to 15 days of detention. The sentence considered the deliberate nature of the violations, the serious threat to public safety, and the fact that the driver had been cited for speeding over 80 times since the start of 2026. The ruling is not yet final.
