In the capital of Kazakhstan, the new academic year began on September 1. Astana schools held the first class hours for students in grades 1–11, dedicated to the theme "The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan: the basis for forming an Adal Azamat, a smart nation, and a responsible society," reports the website infohub.kz.
The events were organized as part of the unified educational program "Adal Azamat." Students are told about the significance of the amendments and additions made to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with attention also paid to developing legal culture, increasing civic responsibility, and respect for national values. Special attention is given to the values of "Adal Azamat," "Taza Kazakhstan," "Law and Order," and "Tolyq Adam." Students discuss responsibility for their actions, compliance with the law, respect for others, and care for the environment.
In the new 2026–2027 academic year, more than 337,000 children are studying in 206 secondary education institutions in the capital. About 33,000 of them crossed the school threshold for the first time this year. By the start of the school year, the capital's educational institutions underwent comprehensive preparation. Particular attention was paid to safety issues, internet connection quality, sanitary conditions, and catering. All public schools are equipped with video surveillance systems, and cameras and panic buttons are connected to a unified situational center and the operational management center of the police department.
To provide students with textbooks and educational-methodical complexes, more than 1.2 million copies were purchased from 14 publishers this year. Primary classes of public schools and children from socially vulnerable categories are fully provided with free hot meals.
In addition, on the eve of the new school year, 7 additional educational buildings were opened at schools No. 13, No. 41, No. 72, No. 73, No. 79, No. 82, and No. 86, as well as 2 private schools. The new facilities will create additional student places and reduce the load on existing schools.
