A wedding celebration in Astana ended with administrative protocols and several cars towed to an impound lot after police identified a convoy whose participants committed a series of serious traffic violations, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the Astana Police Department, posted on its Instagram account, five vehicles in the wedding convoy violated traffic rules. Administrative protocols were drawn up against the drivers for creating an emergency situation and for violating the rules on transporting passengers and cargo. The vehicles themselves were placed on an impound lot.

"In addition, police identified three 21-year-old passengers who leaned out of car windows while the vehicles were moving, made noise and impeded safe traffic. Administrative protocols were drawn up against the young men for violating the rules for pedestrians and other road users, as well as for petty hooliganism. All three were placed in a temporary detention room. The materials against them have been sent to court," the police added.

The Astana Police Department reminds that a festive event does not exempt road users from complying with established rules. Any actions that pose a threat to the safety of drivers, passengers and other road users may entail liability as provided by law.
