In Astana, a specialized interdistrict court for administrative offenses has issued a ruling against a taxi driver who behaved inappropriately toward a female passenger, reports infohub.kz.
According to the capital's court, the incident occurred on October 11 at around 07:00. Citizen K., working as a taxi driver, harassed passenger B. by offering her intimate services. Through these actions, he showed disrespect for others, disrupting public order and the peace of citizens.
The case was heard as petty hooliganism under Part 1 of Article 434 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses. The driver's guilt is confirmed by case materials, the administrative offense protocol, his confession, a police inspector's report, and the victim's testimony.
The court recognized as mitigating circumstances his admission of guilt and the fact that the offense was committed for the first time. No aggravating circumstances were established.
"When imposing the penalty, the court took into account the nature and degree of public danger of the offense, as well as the fact that the unlawful behavior consisted of persistent offers of an intimate nature to a passenger. By court order, K. was given an administrative penalty in the form of administrative arrest for a period of 10 days," the court concluded.
