In Astana, traffic on several sections of Almaty Street will be completely closed until the end of 2026 due to the construction of a transport tunnel, reports infohub.kz.

According to the city administration, traffic on Almaty Street from Akmeshit Street to Turkestan Street has been closed since July 18. Another phase of restrictions begins on July 20, when the section from Akmeshit Street to Sauran Street will be completely closed to vehicles. The restrictions will remain in effect until the completion of construction at the end of 2026.

Despite the closures, traffic at the intersections of Almaty Street with Akmeshit, Turkestan, and Sauran streets will remain open, preserving transport links in the area.

The city administration advises drivers and pedestrians to plan their routes in advance to avoid congestion. Temporary road signs and markers will be installed in the area to help organize traffic safely during the construction.

Earlier, phased traffic restrictions were reported on a key road section on the left bank.
