The capital of Kazakhstan broke its 1992 temperature record on July 14, when meteorologists recorded 39.5°C in Astana. Kursiv LifeStyle looked into how residents are discussing the unusual weather on social media, reports infohub.kz.

While some residents ask for tips to escape the heat, others take it humorously. One user suggested replacing water in office coolers with beer to lift spirits.

Another resident showed how the wind blows away the unfulfilled promises of "air-fans" — which even makes women feel cooler.

A feminist twist appeared in a mirrored male demand to wear closed clothing regardless of the weather. Both men and women are entertained in the comments. Jokes include: "Before harassing, remember that we are also someone's brothers," "I walked through the city today dressed not provocatively: shorts below the knee, a T-shirt, and so many loose women whistled at me!!! And one in a Mercedes, letting me cross at a pedestrian crossing, invited me for a ride! I barely talked my way out of it! Horrible, what hormones do to people!" and "Surroundings can't handle such beauty, please don't."

In the coming days, the mercury will "drop" to +30...+33°C during the day. Meanwhile, residents are sharing videos of winter snowfall with piercing wind and admit they've managed to miss such weather.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle offered realistic and economical tips on how to escape the heat in an apartment. Spoiler: it's better to part with carpets for a while.
