Kazakh UFC fighter Asu Almabaev will face American Johnny DiJulius in a wrestling match at the Real American Freestyle (RAF) league. The bout takes place August 22 in Cleveland at RAF12, according to infohub.kz.
“A home fight for DiJulius. Johnny DiJulius will meet Asu Almabaev on August 22 in Cleveland at RAF12,” the RAF said.
Almabaev is ranked seventh in the UFC flyweight division. In his last fight, he defeated Charles Johnson at UFC in Baku via Suloev stretch submission in the third round.
Johnny DiJulius is a seasoned wrestler. During his collegiate career at Ohio State University, he posted a 115-47 record. He was a four-time NCAA qualifier and won the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational at 60 kg. He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Cleveland State University wrestling team.
RAF12 takes place August 22. The main event features Olympic champion Jordan Burroughs against UFC fighter Sean Brady. The co-main event pits former UFC champions Colby Covington and Belal Muhammad.
