OPEC has summarized the results of the 67th meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee, which includes the listed countries. The parties discussed issues of ensuring the stability of global energy markets.
The committee emphasized the critical importance of the safety of international maritime routes to guarantee an uninterrupted flow of energy. The statement notes that concern was expressed about attacks on energy infrastructure, as restoring damaged assets to full capacity is a costly and lengthy process, affecting the overall availability of energy supply.
Any actions that undermine the security of energy supply, whether attacks on infrastructure or disruption of international maritime routes, increase market volatility and weaken collective efforts to maintain stability in the interests of producers, consumers, and the global economy.
Recall that on July 30, the press service of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) reported an attack on a tanker in the waters of the marine terminal, calling it terrorist. The tanker Niffos Sifnos, flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, was damaged; the shipper is Tengizchevroil LLP (Chevron, Kazakhstan). The vessel was loading oil at the offshore mooring unit. Later, the Ministry of Energy denied information about a possible complete shutdown of the CPC.
