An interdepartmental commission has begun work in Atyrau to address the relocation of residents whose homes lie within the sanitary protection zone of the Atyrau Oil Refinery (ANPZ), infohub.kz reports.
According to NUR.KZ, citing the refinery's press service, the Atyrau city administration, together with the State Corporation "Government for Citizens," is clarifying the list of owners and users of land plots within the sanitary protection zone (SPZ) ahead of decisions on the expropriation of properties.
The interdepartmental working commission will review residents' appeals, hold individual consultations, explain the relocation and compensation procedures, and familiarize owners with the results of housing valuations.
A meeting with residents of the areas adjacent to the refinery is planned for mid-November 2026, at which commission representatives will explain the results of the work done and answer questions from the public.
"The final list of land plots and residential properties, their legal status, and information on rights holders will be clarified as the relevant work is completed," the refinery said.
