In Atyrau, a man who pretended to be the brother of a beaten stranger rode with him in an ambulance to the hospital and then robbed him. The incident occurred near a city store, reports the website infohub.kz.

According to the publication "Ak Zhaik", several people knocked the man to the ground and beat him. A witness called an ambulance, and when the crew arrived, he claimed to be the victim's brother. The paramedics did not check the family ties, and the beaten man himself could not refute the stranger's words. So the "relative" went with him to the regional hospital.

However, the care ended at the doors of the medical facility. While the patient was being carried inside, his companion took an iPhone 13, AirPods, a backpack, and 25,000 tenge. The total damage amounted to 382,000 tenge.

Later it turned out that before this incident, the man had already broken into the same store twice through the open back door. The first time he took tools and sold them at the final bus stop, the second time he took a smart speaker and computer mice, selling them to passersby.

In court, the defendant admitted to all the thefts, explaining them prosaically: he needed money for alcohol. Given that he had previously been convicted of theft, the court recognized a relapse and sentenced him to 4 years in prison. In addition, the convict must compensate for the damage: 243,272 tenge to the store owner and 382,000 tenge to the beaten man.
