A video of a rough detention in Atyrau has spread on social media, showing a man who on October 13 climbed onto a metal fence with barbed wire in protest against police actions. The regional police department commented on the incident, reports infohub.kz.

According to the publication "Ak Zhaiyk," it all began with a conflict between an Atyrau resident and a woman, after which he and two friends went to settle the score, taking a pneumatic weapon.

The conversation reached a dead end, and one of the men fired three shots from a pneumatic pistol at his opponent. However, the shooting did not end the confrontation. A fight broke out, during which a bladed weapon was also used.

Later, a court sentenced both friends to real prison terms, while the man from the video was a witness in the same case.

According to a source for "Ak Zhaiyk," the two defendants had hoped for suspended sentences, but the verdict was so stunning that they began to speak about what they had previously preferred to keep silent.

It turned out that, according to them, the initiator of the whole showdown was that very witness. As the source said, the friends initially concealed his role because the man already had a theft conviction and a new criminal case could result in a real prison term for him. However, after their own conviction, they no longer wished to hide this detail.

After hearing the convicted men, the court issued a private ruling on the need to legally assess the actions of their companion. Thus, the witness became a suspect in a separate criminal proceeding under the hooliganism article, and in September he received suspect status.

But securing his appearance for questioning proved difficult. As police said, the man ignored the investigator's summons. He himself approached bloggers and journalists, complaining of pressure from law enforcement and attempts to forcibly bring him to the police.

On October 6, in the Samal microdistrict, he climbed onto the external air conditioner unit on the second floor of an apartment building, protesting against police actions. After negotiations, he was brought down and then released under a written undertaking.

But on October 13, the story continued. This time, the man climbed onto a metal fence with barbed wire. His detention was much rougher than the previous one and was caught on video. People were especially moved by the cries of his mother, who begged the police to release her son: "Zhoq, zhiber balany!" (No, let my son go!).

This time, the man did not get off with a written undertaking. He was detained under Article 128 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Kazakhstan and placed in a temporary detention facility.

The Atyrau Region Police Department confirmed that both cases involve the same person. The department rejects accusations of unlawful persecution, explaining its actions by the fact that the suspect was evading investigation.

Recall that earlier, a video appeared on social media showing a man sitting on an air conditioner on the second floor of an apartment building in Atyrau. Police explained that he was a suspect in a criminal case. Despite summons, the man evaded appearing before the police. After the incident, he was taken to the police station.
