The regional stage of the national contest 'Mereyli Otbasy-2026' has concluded in the Atyrau region, aimed at strengthening the institution of the family and promoting family values. The award ceremony was attended by the region's akim (governor) Bolat Akchulakov, reports infohub.kz.
The contest, initiated by the head of state, has been held annually since 2014. Its key objective is to enhance the role of parents in raising the younger generation and preserving traditional foundations.
The head of the region congratulated the participants on their victory and expressed gratitude to all families who took part in the qualifying round. 'This year, the contest is being held in our country for the 13th time. This shows how important family values are for our society. After all, the family is a sacred hearth from which every person draws strength, and at the same time a mirror of society. The Atyrau region is proud of its hardworking, patriotic families who carefully preserve their traditions. The award you receive today is not only a recognition of victory, but also a sign of respect for family values, the labor of parents, and the upbringing of the younger generation. I wish you joy in your children's successes, and happiness in seeing your grandchildren and great-grandchildren! May every home in the Atyrau region be filled with prosperity, well-being, and harmony,' said Bolat Akchulakov.
This year, 62 families from all districts and the city of Atyrau took part in the regional stage. Among them were representatives from education, healthcare, agriculture, culture, entrepreneurship, and other sectors. Large and young families showed particular activity.
Eight families advanced to the final stage, including dynasties of railway workers, entrepreneurs, and families where traditions are passed down from generation to generation. By the decision of the regional commission, the first place was awarded to the Zulkashev family from Makhambet district, the second to the Sabyrov family from Inder district, and the third to the Bulekov family from Isatai district. The winners received valuable prizes.
The honor of the region at the republican level will be defended by the Ospanov family from Zhylyoi district. This is a large and friendly family raising seven sons and one daughter, with 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Family members work in education, law enforcement, production, and culture.
Additionally, four families that participated in the regional stage were awarded letters of commendation.
The republican stage of the 'Mereyli Otbasy-2026' contest will take place by Family Day, which is celebrated in Kazakhstan on the second Sunday of September.
